Speaking of Lights..

How about chandelier without the stuffy, traditionally? Well, look no further than the 'Atlantis' by Terzani, an Italian lighting company.

The series was designed by B. Baylar and woven by master artisans into a delicate fabric using over 4,000 metres of chain, each is unique and numbered. Atlantis chandeliers are hand made and available in gold, nickel, black nickel and copper finishes. They are also customizable on request.

Atlantis inspires thoughts of jelly fish and clouds and rain and waves and vines. Just as grand as the traditional crystal chandelier but the chain adds a modern twist.

There is a Light That Never Goes Out.

Industrial designer, Sergio Silva, describes his Oyule lamp as 'a modern day light bulb that has travelled back in time, providing light as a traditional oil lamp'.

The lamps come in pairs and there are only 66 sets available, retailing for US$650.
A steel component in the bulb's base makes the lamp sit at a precarious angle.

The folks at Intructables thought the price tag was a little too much to handle and so have intructions to make your own slightly less clean and chic version.

Though maybe the $650 price tag buys you a little certainty that it won't explode dramatically in your face.
