All The Tumblr In The World

I'm so hipster I got myself a Tumblr. I will keep this blog though as I will use them differently. My Tumblr will be more a stream of images, texts and music that I find inspiring at the time. Less information based.

Take a look!

All the Glitter Loves Alex Leach Loves

Alex Leach Loves is an adorable little blog featuring the artworks of Alex Leach. Mostly sweet little water colour and ink drawings done daily (well, not quite daily) with some crayon and gel pens thrown in for good measure.
I think they're the cutest!

Some of my favorites follow..

Townhouse Dreaming

Another amazing townhouse that I desperately want. And like the last, also in Grace Court. I think I have found my dream neighborhood. This facade is so beautiful. The Victorian detailing! The butcher's tiles in the kitchen! The green tiled fire place! those bathroom sinks! And the parquet flooring! Oh gosh!
A bargain at only $5.7 million.
(For sale by Vandenburg Realty)

Orishiki

Oh. Em. Gee.
Just take a look at these startlingly beautiful bags, and consider the amazing engineering behind them. The idea is simply amazing and has been executed perfectly.
The design is by Japanese product designer Naoki Kawamoto and is called Orishiki. From what I can tell they are not available to buy as of yet because Kawamoto is still looking for a backer to help with the mass production of these items. Let's hope it happens soon.

“Orishiki” is a hybrid word composed of “Ori”, taken from Origami, Japanese paper-folding art, and “Shiki” taken from Furoshiki, Japanese traditional wrapping cloth which is large enough to wrap and transport goods and gifts, as well as wearing them as scarves. “ORISHIKI” is a new carrying device consisting of a single piece of two dimensional structure, constructed of triangular segments which can be folded like origami, and can wrap things like furoshiki. The geometric bag is not only idiosyncratic in its appearance but also in its highly specialized production process. The unique process can be applied to just about any productions without losing its unique product identity. (from the website)

Someone Please Buy Me This House

I am at 5.95 million dollars I am only $5 949 400 short of being able to afford this home. And I need it so desperately. Grace Court Townhouse is in Brooklyn NY and is on the market now (next year's Christmas present?). It is currently configured as an owners triplex, a garden floor front studio, plus two more apartments on the fourth and fifth floors. So technically four families can live there, but I want it all to myself. The pink rooms are so wonderful I could die.
I am not sure what possessed the real estate agent to include that couch in the photos though..

If your interested, and have 5.59 million, here you go Grace Court Townhouse.

Oh Carla

Carla Zampatti you are the sister of my soul.
As far as I'm concerned (and seeing as this is my blog, that is all that matters) Carla Zampatti is Australia's best designer and can do no wrong. Upon seeing her past collection I actually shed a tear, it was that amazing.
I have recently purchased my first piece of Carla Zampatti, a silver wrap jacket. It is so wonderful, I'm thinking of going back for seconds!
Take note of the female flattering shapes, incredible form and structure and the gold! Oh! The gold!

Thoughts for The New Year

This year I wondered why it is we celebrate a certain date with such enthusiasm. It leads to bigger questions of time and space and things that are far too big to think about whilst celebrating said date.
When really, why not? Celebrate every date I say!

Some of my favourite thoughts other people have on the subject

"New Year's Day- Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual"
-Mark Twain

"New Years Eve, where auld acquaintance be forgot, unless, of course, those tests come back positive"
- Jay Leno

“New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights”
-Hamilton Wright Mabie
